AFL Sapphire Coast Mens’ Competition Update

AFL Sapphire Coast Men’s Competitions

AFL Sapphire Coast wishes to provide an update on the status of our Senior Men’s Competitions.

After a review of the current structures we have in place, and the withdrawal of two sides after numerous forfeits within the first month of the season, we have determined that the Division 2 Men’s competition is not going to be viable in 2022.

In light of this, The AFL have determined that the best course of action is the three remaining Division 2 sides, and the 5 current Division 1 sides combine to form an 8-team Men’s Competition for the remainder of 2022. This change will provide all participants maximum games throughout the season, against seven other quality sides.

This competition will run as an 8-team competition up until finals, where the Top 4 sides on the ladder will play for the Division 1 premiership, and the remaining sides will battle it out for the Division 2 premiership.

A new fixture will be available online in the next 24 hours.

We believe this is the best possible outcome for all clubs, and hope this provides a balanced competition for all involved.
