Inaugural Youth Girls competition to commence in 2020
AFL Sapphire Coast is extremely excited to announce the introduction of our new U15s “Youth Girls” competition for the 2020 season!
This competition will be the first junior female-only Australian Rules competition on the Sapphire Coast and provides young girls aged 11 – 14 years of age an opportunity to participate in our great game.
The competition has been established to accommodate the growing popularity of female football within the Sapphire Coast and across the nation. The introduction of this competition will provide young female players an opportunity to play AFL footy in a female only competition which will be fun and also provide a clear pathway into Senior Women’s Football.
More details on the competition structure will be announced early in the new year however it is expected to commence in April / May and we are hoping all eight Sapphire Coast clubs will be entering a team.
Any girls under the age of 15 interested in participating are encouraged get in touch with their local club to find out more. Details for each club can be found below.
