Registration Open – Female Indigenous Youth Leadership Program
AFL NSW/ACT is pleased to advise that the next Female Indigenous Youth Leadership Program has been locked in and we are now accepting nominations.
The Program is for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls aged 12- 15 years of age from across NSW/ACT, funded by Transport for NSW. It is a three year partnership and replaces the Adam Goodes Program. It also forms part of the pathway to the National Diversity Woomera and Boomerang teams.
The upcoming program will be delivered in a 3-day camp format, provides an opportunity for participants to build upon their leadership and football skills whilst encouraging them to continue to be leaders within their local community. We aim to achieve this through education sessions and specialised mentoring from both AFL Ambassadors and elders. This camp will be our second Female Indigenous Youth Leadership Program.
This camp will include:
- AFL Skills and Drills
- Personal and football development goals
- Learning from AFLW and AFL players
- Leadership sessions, including culture and identity
- Training and game simulation
- Education session delivered by Transport for NSW
- Further details of AFL Talent Programs and Player Pathways
