Round 15 Preview
Narooma v Pambula
With two home games left in the regular season, the Narooma Lions have a great opportunity to finish the season with two wins and claim the minor premiership. The Pambula Panthers travel to Bill Smyth this weekend and will be looking to give the Lions a red hot game. The Panthers need to turn things around quickly after a disappointing loss last weekend and a win this weekend would clinch third spot on the ladder. Narooma will be looking to make it 11 wins in a row leading into the 2018 finals series.

Player to Watch: Jordan Lang, last years best and fairest has again played well in the ruck this season whilst also dropping back in defense to buff opposition attacks. Prediction: Narooma by 35 Points.

Tathra v Eden
The Eden Whalers were able to claim their first win of the season last weekend against a depleated Sea Eagles in one of the upsets of the seasons to date. With names like Dwyer, O’Loghlin and Gartside out for Tathra, Eden seized the opportunity to erase the 0 in their wins column. The Whalers will be looking to finish their season on a high this weekend and once again be compitative against the Sea Eagles. Tathra’s chances of a third place finish are slipping and will need to win this weekend to give themselves a chance against Pambula in next weekend’s final round.

Player to Watch: Luke Grewar, kicked four goals last weekend up forward for the whalers using his pace. Prediction: Tathra by 20 Points.

Women’s
The final four is starting to take shape with Bermagui needing two big wins and results to go their way to play finals football. The Breakers will be extremely confident leading into the final two weeks of the season having beaten Narooma last weekend as they take on the Giants this weekend. Broulee Moruya couldn’t get the four points against Eden on the weekend and will be looking to finish the season on a good note.

In Bega, the Bombers have a great opportunity to get win number one as they take on Merimbula on home soil. The Diggers took the points last time out in an extremely close contest. Bega will be banking on home field advantage to get their first win of the season and in the clubs history.

Up in Narooma, the Lions will take on Pambula, with the Panthers still a slim chance of claiming a top two finish if results go their way in the final two weeks of the season. Woolley-Blain has been on fire in recent weeks kicking goal after goal and Narooma will need to limit her impact if the Lions are to get the four points.

The final game of the weekend sees the top of the table clash with Tathra hosting Eden in what is shaping as the major semi final preview. Tathra play Pambula next weekend and a win this weekend would see the side claim a top two finish before taking on the Panthers. Look for this one to remain close for four quarters, and be another instant classic between the two clubs.

Player to Watch: Amy Hodgson. The Pambula Panther has been placing some scintillating football in recent weeks, being amongst her teams best in some important matches. Prediction: Eden, Bermagui, Bega & Pambula.

With the clubs playing each other the last two rounds, two wins to either club will see that side make the finals and the other miss out. The final game of the season sees the top two sides in Broulee Moruya and Bermagui going head to head. The Giants have not beaten the Breakers this season and on recent form, the Breakers are going to be extremely difficult to beat as the season comes to a close. Both teams are coming off a bye and will be keen to gain momentum as both clubs gear up for a deep run come finals.

A big couple of weeks coming up in the under 12’s grade with three teams having booked a finals birth and Pambula and Bega battling for fourth with both teams having tough matches this weekend. In Bega the Bombers host Merimbula. Bega sit below Pambula on percentage and will need to improve that if they are to play finals. Pambula showed that Merimbula are beatable last weekend and Bega will give themselves a good opportunity to cause an upset this weekend.

In Narooma the top of the table Lions host Pambula in what will be an exciting match. The Lions were too good for Bermagui last weekend whilst the Panthers will be looking to continue their momentum of knocking off the top sides as they beat Merimbula last weekend in a close encounter.
