The Sea Eagles will be confident that they can get back on track this weekend as they take on the winless Eden Whalers. The Whalers were much improved last weekend, taking it too the Diggers and will be looking to do so again this weekend. Joshua Brown has been lively for Eden in 2018 bringin quickness to the Whalers lineup. One of the biggest matches of the weekend as well as the season will be when the two top sides of Eden and Tathra go head to head this weekend. Both teams are undefeated in 2018, and although this will be a big game, both clubs will know that it matters most come September. Sam Crowley and Kamilla Grubesic have been huge for the Sea Eagles and Whalers up forward and both players will be two to watch this weekend. The Bermagui Breakers are flying high in 2018, with two wins and the youthful Breakers should make it three wins as the team travels to Bega this weekend. Bermagui are playing tough skillful football as they look to play finals in 2018. In Pambula the Panthers will be looking for two wins on the trot after a four point last weekend against the Giants who have pushed the top teams in 2018. The Diggers are yet to get on the winners list this season and will need to be at their best this weekend to take the four points against Pambula. Claudia Ferguson has been a good acquisition for the Panthers in 2018 being one of the top rucks in the women’s competition. In the final match of the weekend the Narooma Lions host Broulee Moryuya in what is set to be a tight and hard fought contest. The Giants need four points this weekend to keep their finals hopes alive early in the season. Round 5 Preview
Under 16’s
Some big games in the under 16’s this weekend. In Bega the Bermagui Breakers take on the Tathra Sea Eagles in what should be a pulsating contest. Tathra fell short last weekend against the top of the table Narooma although Zac Harlow and Tullen Ford have been good for Tathra. Coming off the bye, Bermagui will be looking to build on their round 3 win. In Narooma, the Lions host the Giants. The Lions will be looking to make it 4 wins from 4 whilst the Giants will be looking to build on their first win of the season from last weekend. In the final match of the round, Pambula host Merimbula with the Diggers looking for win number one. The Panthers will want to bounce back from last weekends loss and their is nothing sweeter than a win against local rivals. This one is set to go the distance with both teams to leave nothing left on the field. Player to Watch: Jacob Overend, The Merimbula midfielder saw plenty of the ball the last time out against Bermagui. Prediction: Narooma, Tathra & Pambula.

Under 14’s
Coming off of the bye, the Merimbula Diggers’ task of getting their first win for the season doesn’t get any easier with the Diggers travelling to Pambula to take on the unbeaten Panthers. Pambula are coming off a solid win against top four side Broulee Moruya in the rain whilst the Diggers will be fresh from the bye. Bega sees a double header this weekend with Tathra and Broulee Moruya set to meet for the first time this season. The Giants were outmatched last weekend although the Giants will go into the match as favourites against the winless Tathra side. The Giants Sam Thomas has bee instumental for the club whilst Khama Geisler has led the way for the Sea Eagles. In the second match of the double header, the Bega Bombers host Bermagui. The Bombers were highly competative against the Breakers last weekend in the rain and the side will be hoping that the dry conditions will help them further in knocking off the top side. Watch out for the Butcher brothers in this one as they have been great for the Bombers in 2018. Player to Watch: Emille Turville, Showed great speed for the Bombers in last weekends clash breaking out of the middle regularly. Prediction: Bermagui, BM Giants & Pambula.

Under 12’s
It was a tough weekend of football last weekend for the juniors with strong wind and driving rain at all venues across the competition. Teams will be looking forward to dry conditions this weekend with some important matches on the cards. After a tough round 2 loss, the Pambula Panthers have won two straight and sit just outside the top 4. This weekend will be a tough contet for the club as they take on cross town rivals Merimbula who are yet to lose in 2018. Nate Woods has been pivotal for the Panthers recent form and a good match this weekend will see his side push the ladder leaders. In Narooma, the Lions have been dominant after a round 2 loss to Merimbula beating the Giants and Sea Eagles in consectutive weeks. The Lions host the Giants this weekend who are without a win in 2018. The Lions have been putting up big scores in recent weeks with Frank Friskin and Hudson Bromwich up top of the leading goal kicker tally. The Giants have improved each week in 2018 and will look to keep that trend going this weekend. In Bega the Bombers host the Bermagui Breakers. The Breakers got the better of the Bombers in driving rain last weekend with a hot start and whoever gets off to a good start this weekend should have the upper hand. Jackson Parsons has been the player to watch for the Bombers whilst Lachlan Moresi will be looking to have a big game before the PSSA carnival in Batemans Bay next week. The final match of the round sees Eden host Tathra. After a round 2 win, the Whalers have dropped their last two although the team knows if it produces their best they can keep Tathra winless to start the season. The youthful Sea Eagles will be confident of causing an upset away from home this weekend. Player to Watch: Hudson Bromwich, the Narooma junior kicked 5 last weekend, which is unheard of in the under 12’s competition. Will be looking to add more. Prediction: Bega, Merimbula, Eden & Narooma.
